The last pony we scoped was a crossbreed rescue, Apple. He was stuck in a small paddock with no forage for a very long time. Apple was skin and bone. His coat was dull, and he was unhappy to move off of the leg. His new owner helped him look and feel so much better. We contacted her when he had started his recovery. He still wind sucked terribly. Even with a preventative collar. His owner suspected ulcers, and from what she described to me, I did too. When scoped, multiple pin prick ulcers wete revealed all over his stomach. This definitely explained his unhappiness to move forward when ridden and why he would wind-suck.
As he went onto the EQ-ULCER his wind sucking became far less intense and less frequent. He started to improve in condition and showed a magnificent coat. At the end of the trial the scope revealed that all the ulcers had completely cured, and his behavioural issues had significantly improved.
